Terms of Service

Welcome to Babylore. By installing, accessing, or using the Babylore mobile app or mybabylore.com, you agree to the terms below. If you don't agree, don't use the service. We've tried to keep this in plain English.

1. Who we are

Babylore ("we", "us", "our") is operated by Andy Su, a sole developer based in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

2. What Babylore is — and isn't

Babylore is a tool for caregivers to log baby activity, browse recipes, and share information with co-parents. It is provided for informational purposes only and does not constitute medical, nutritional, or developmental advice. Always consult a qualified pediatrician about your child's health, feeding, allergens, and development. Babylore is not a substitute for professional medical care.

3. Your account

You may use Babylore anonymously for local tracking, but some features (community recipes, baby sharing, cloud sync) require an account. Accounts use Apple Sign In — Apple handles authentication and we never see your password. You're responsible for keeping your Apple ID secure. Tell us right away if you suspect unauthorized access to your Babylore data.

You must be at least 18 to create an account.

4. Content you submit

You retain ownership of recipes, comments, photos, and other content you submit ("Your Content"). By submitting, you grant Babylore a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive license to host, display, translate, and distribute Your Content within the Babylore app and website to other users. This license ends when you delete the content (or your account), except for the limited extent needed for backups and legal compliance.

By submitting Your Content, you represent and warrant that:

• It is your own, or you have permission to share it.
• It doesn't infringe anyone else's copyright, trademark, or privacy.
• It isn't unlawful, hateful, defamatory, sexually explicit, or harmful to children.
• The ingredients and preparation are accurate as described.
• The stated minimum age is appropriate for the food, ingredients, allergens, and texture you describe.
• It contains no ingredients or preparations known to be unsafe for the stated age (for example, honey under 12 months, raw fish under 24 months, whole nuts or unhalved grapes under 36 months).

Every community recipe runs through a layered safety review before it appears in the public feed: deterministic rule checks against known unsafe ingredient/age combinations, an AI-assisted nuanced review, and ongoing community reports. We may decline, hold, or remove any submission at our discretion, and may suspend or terminate accounts that repeatedly violate these terms.

You agree to indemnify and hold Babylore harmless from any claim, loss, or damage arising from Your Content, including but not limited to claims by other users who relied on it. This survives termination of your account.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use Babylore to spam, harass, impersonate, or threaten other users.
• Scrape, mirror, or republish other users' content without their permission.
• Attempt to compromise the security of Babylore's infrastructure.
• Submit content that includes personal identifiers of children other than your own.
• Use Babylore's brand, name, or logos to imply endorsement of an unrelated product.

6. Pricing

Babylore is currently fully free with no subscription or in-app purchases. All current features — tracker logging, cloud sync, multi-baby support, community recipes, comparisons, baby sharing — are free for every user.

We may introduce optional paid features in the future. If we do, everything that is free at the time you create your account stays free; paid features would only gate new capabilities added later. Any paid features would be sold through Apple's App Store and governed by Apple's standard subscription terms. We don't process or store payment information — Apple does. We'll update these Terms and notify existing accounts before any paid features launch.

7. Intellectual property

The Babylore name, logo, app design, bundled recipe set, country comparison content, and all original copy on mybabylore.com are owned by Babylore and protected by copyright and trademark law. You may not copy, modify, or distribute Babylore's content without our prior written permission.

8. Termination

You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete account. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms. Sections that should reasonably survive termination (intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability) will continue to apply.

9. Warranty disclaimer

Babylore is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including (but not limited to) merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy of recipes or cultural information, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any defects will be corrected.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Babylore, its operators, and its suppliers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, missed appointments, missed milestones, or any harm arising from reliance on recipe or feeding information in the app. Our total liability for any claim related to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose, or C$50 if you haven't paid us anything.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Quebec, Canada, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. You agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of that province for any disputes arising under these terms.

12. Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make a material change, we'll notify existing accounts via in-app message and update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
